Across Scotland you can find the remains of closed distillieries. But why do they close and why do people seek out their whiskies. Ever since the early days of whisky production, distilleries have appeared and disappeared. Some failed, some merged, some literally exploded, and the Scottish landscape is littered with the remains of historical distilling. However, October was a busy month for the lost distilleries of Scotland.
